Aromatic, light weight and fluffy, Sona Masoori rice is a medium-grain, unpolished rice, cultivated predominantly in South India. Due to its lower caloric count, it is a healthier alternative to Basmati rice. With low glycemic index, it is ideal to lower blood sugar levels. Sona Masoori rice is a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin B, and iron. Boil rice in water for 15-20 minutes until cooked soft. It is ground to a fine powder to make rice flour, in addition to using in making idly, dosa and other healthy rice dishes.
